LCVS Flex (Part-Time)
LCVS Flex (Part-Time)
Flexible Learning for Leon County Schools Students
Leon County Virtual School (LCVS) Flex allows students enrolled in a traditional Leon County Schools middle or high school to take supplemental online courses while remaining enrolled at their current school.
Unlike full-time virtual school, Flex offers rolling enrollment, meaning students can request courses throughout the school year without waiting for a specific enrollment window.
Flex is a great option for students who want to get ahead academically, earn high school credits while in middle school, complete additional graduation requirements, or take courses that may not fit into their traditional school schedule.
How Does Flex Work?
Students remain enrolled full-time at their traditional Leon County Schools campus while taking supplemental online courses through LCVS.
All Flex course requests require approval from the student's school counselor to ensure the selected courses align with their academic plan and graduation requirements.
Students complete online coursework, communicate regularly with their virtual teachers, and participate in required assessments. Students and families can also work with instructors to establish a personalized pacing plan that supports their academic goals.
How to Enroll in LCVS Flex
Step 1: Talk With Your School Counselor
Before requesting a virtual course, students and families should discuss their academic goals with their school counselor. The counselor can help determine which courses are appropriate and how they fit into the student's current schedule and graduation plan.
Step 2: Request a Flex Course
Families have two options:
-
Option 1: School Counselor Enrollment. Your school counselor can submit the LCVS course request directly on your behalf.
-
Option 2: Parent/Guardian Interest Form. Complete the Flex Interest Form below, and LCVS will contact your student's school counselor to request approval.
Step 3: Watch Your Email for Next Steps
After submitting the interest form, watch your email for updates regarding counselor approval, course availability, and enrollment instructions.
Submitting an interest form does not automatically enroll a student in a course.
Step 4: Connect With Your Virtual Teacher
Once your student has been placed in a course, the assigned teacher will reach out with information about getting started.
Students must complete their Welcome Call with their teacher before beginning coursework.
Step 5: Create a Personalized Pacing Plan
Work with your teacher to develop a personalized pacing plan that fits your schedule and helps you make consistent progress toward completing the course.
Ready to Get Started?
Complete the Flex interest form below, and our team will work with your student's school counselor to determine the next steps.
LCVS Flex gives students the opportunity to expand their learning while remaining connected to their traditional school community.
