Full-Time Enrollment

Leon County Virtual School (LCVS) offers full-time public school enrollment for students in grades 6–12. Full-time students are enrolled as public school students, participate in required state and district assessments, and can earn a high school diploma.

Full-time virtual school is not easier than traditional school; rather, it is a different way to learn. Students do not need to enter LCVS with every skill fully developed, but they and their families should be ready to build routines, communicate regularly, and work together to support academic success.

Full-time enrollment requires an application and approval. We encourage families to review the expectations below to determine whether full-time virtual learning is the right fit for their student.

If full-time virtual school sounds like the right fit for your child and your family, we encourage you to follow the steps below to submit an application. As part of the application process, both the student and parent/guardian will be required to attend a 15-minute Teams meeting. All new full-time students must also attend two half-day, in-person orientations before beginning classes in January.

Important: Please do not withdraw your child from their current school while completing the application process. Full-time enrollment requires approval, and students should remain enrolled at their current school until they receive confirmation and further instructions from LCVS.

If full-time virtual school doesn't seem like the right fit for your child, or if the full-time enrollment window is currently closed, we encourage you to explore our other virtual learning options. LCVS Flex (Part-Time) allows students to take individual virtual courses while remaining enrolled at their current school, while Flex+ (Home Education) provides families with the flexibility to pursue home education while accessing virtual courses. Both options give students opportunities to learn in ways that best meet their individual needs and circumstances.
